Playtime with BOYS!!!

WAR!!!!A war has broken out in our house!

Arch enemies:

This is the commander of the KFC Army.
(Yep, that is Kentucky Fried Chicken)

The forces of the Obama brigade, were out in full force!

Don't let the smile fool you...this war was fierce!

All soldiers were armed and ready!

There were even some additional, unexpected forces, that were not welcome!
(Sgt. Gabi and Maj. Tucker)
They did make a withdraw...not very peacefully though.

It was a long hard battle, but you may rest well tonight knowing...
The armed soldiers will remain on watch!

It helps to have some...

~Will (7) and Sassy (12)~
The whole point of this blog was to capture some of the daily happenings or goings-on, if you will, in our house. And a great way to keep our family and friends in tune with our kids, and their individual personalities!
So with that here is what was said this morning as I was trying to get a point across!
Will came up to me and said:
"Mom, I'm really not that good at juggling"

~GREAT CHANCE FOR ONE OF THOSE LIFE LESSONS/PREACHING....~

"Well, Will what is it going to take to get GOOD at doing something?"

"Balls!"
(he is referring to being good at juggling)

Right....on more level than one!

KY Jelly, Drs Appointments, and Culinary “School”:

It has been a couple of busy weeks around here!
We have been to therapy appointments, 2 Doctor appointments (4 shots for Gabi) and a medication for Will (Guanfacine).
Our pictures posted today are of Will helping with lunch ~actually he made the whole meal~ of Quinoa (pronounced Keen-wa) . He cooked with wine, added his own chopped veggies, and added spaghetti sauce! It was yummy!!!

Will(son) and I made a trip to the pharmacist this week, to purchase his new medication. This antihypertensive is supposed to help with Tourettes, ADHD-like symptoms, and anxiety….
While we were waiting, I was looking through the shelves of medication for Advil Cold and Sinus, the only thing that can cure what ails daddy that 1 or 2 times a year he chooses to finally take medicine.
So I am looking and looking, and Will was just down the 6 foot aisle, looking as well, and then I noticed that he had popped the lid on something and was smelling it (he likes to sniff, and taste things….)
and he said
"Mom this one smells good"
—proudly holding up a bottle of KY Jelly massage oil!
I am kind of frozen at this point...like I have just seen a rattlesnake wrapping itself around my child's leg...don't move to fast,~ slowly~, don't alarm anyone...no one will get hurt. I started to have images of the KY Jelly falling, and then the dreaded announcement "Clean up in aisle 12, KY JELLY MASSAGE OIL , Bring something to soak it up." Then a small crowd starts to gather to see if they can "help" or rather figure out who spilled what! THEN the Wal-Mart talk will begin,
"Was she buying it?" "She let her son pick it out??"

MOM-"UUHH, put that back, please and come down here…."
SON-"I wanna look at these."
And the "great" thing is that NOW he can read, so before he starts spelling out TROJANS (this stuff is all at eye level, is that not wrong??), I am able to get him near me, and quickly we leave the over the counter aisle.
This will be a great story to pass on to him, in his 30’s!

GOOD TIMES!

This weekend we went to Cedar Valley Park, and we were supposed to go hiking....but instead ended up at a playground! The temps were in the high 40's and our 7+ inches of snow were melting right before our eyes.
I think this all started with our daily
"What do you wanna do today? "
eventually I came forward and said
"I think we should go hiking"
Will: No I don't want to.
Me: Well, I do and I am going to get really grumpy if you tell me no!
I know briefly he was weighing the consequences of either a grumpy me, or 4 kids playing in the mud-snow-slush mixture!
Will: ~"o.k."

MA and PA
the HAPPY children ( SMILE OR ELSE!)
Let the snow balls fly!

DIRECT HIT!
you can't hide!
He's fast!
Pulling out the big guns!
Will's technique: Throw and RUN!
Get mom...she MADE US COME!
Tire swing time!
This kept up for 10 minutes or so, and then they complained that there stomaches hurt....hmmm??

All in all, I think ALL The sacrifices that we made that day were worth our FUN TIME!!!

Here is another glimpse from this weekend...
It seems that if I am alone, a radar goes off for the kids...and they must seek me out!
Too bad we only have this chair...

Completely unrealted and unthought things....

Here is just one of those random posts...I have a ton of pictures that I would love to add, but not really anything that goes together!

Will on a tire swing and feeding a cow at Niabi Zoo this summer...

Gabi on top of our play structure...never mind the runny nose.(summer)
Boys coloring! Will right before he threw the snow at me!

P.S.
Since I have been keeping you updated on Sen. Obama, and was very proud of our caucus night last week, then I am thinking that I should touch on the events that transpired last night in New Hampshire. We (Sen. O and I) knew that this would be a "battle" and that as he has said "we are preparing for a marathon not a sprint...", my view is: I would rather that we have an upset NOW than farther down the road....also he WAS behind in the "polls" before we went to NH, so this was kind of expected. BUT there was much anticipation brewing about the sizes of crowds he was drawing, and that it would probably all play out for him. Makes you wonder about conspiracy theory?? (Never trust the polls...I have been saying that ALL along...)
This in not the END! (OOHHH...we should make shirts! Like the Field of Dreams: Is this Heaven?....Is this the END? No it's New Hampshire!)
There has been MUCH discussion about the HRC "incident" of tearing up, and DID that persuade some of the undecideds??? I am not going to comment on this...we each have our own beliefs (thanks mom for the life lesson #23 If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all) but one thing that I thought was interesting was: the woman who asked the question said that she "was asking woman to woman -- Truly HOW she was able to do it, day to day--the woman said that she was touched by Hillary's response, she didn't expect the welling up, but none the less she was touched....then she voted for Obama.(CNN has the video)
She mentioned that he is just SO inspirational, and a once in a life time opportunity for us.
Like John Edwards had mentioned we are only 1% into this race! I do think that IT will be close, and there is a lot more campaigning to do....this is truly only the beginning!
If I should happen to have any Hillary supporters that read here then CONGRATS on your win! (I truly do not know of any!)

A dedication to the one that holds my heart!

Okay for those of you who TRULY know me, know that I like to joke around...so this page IS dedicated to Barack Obama, but REALLY TRULY Will is the one that holds my heart! So no worries!

What a great caucus night...all of my personal hard work, calling, talking, planning, postcard writing, button-shirt wearing....has paid off! As well as for all my family and friends that listened to me....over and over...and for all of us that STOOD for Barack...THANK YOU to everyone!!!

On Wed, Isa and I went to Muscatine and we got to meet Michelle Obama...she was simple wonderful, warm, open, honest....just one of us!!! Also barack's sister from Kenya was there as well....she was very sweet and took Isa in instantly!!! She even gave her own personal button to Isa! She LOVED that!!! (unfortunately no photos of this! )

But here are some of the last 24 hours in our Iowan world!

Isa, Michelle Obama, and Callie

These are the amazing cookies that my parents created!!!! They were a hit!
This is our Obama corner...at our caucus! Tipton has 3 precinct, we are precinct 2, due to our population IN precinct 2 we are allotted 4 delegates...due to total # of people in our precinct that turned out...we need to have 15 people in order to obtain 1 delegate and to remain "viable"...we actually had 2 delegates, HRC had 1, JE had 1 and BR was 2 people away from being viable....so 2 undecideds went with BR, to make him viable, so then we "lost " one of our delegates....so we got 1, HRC got 1, JE got 1, and 1 went to BR....I was fine with losing a delegate to BR, I have liked him! Get this...we had 87 people in our precinct show up...of that there were 35 for Barack Obama....19 for HRC, 15 for JE, 15 for BR...so we all tied, since we had lost our one delegate! The other precincts in Tipton only had 3 viable canidates, so Obama got 2-3 delegates in those precincts! But it has just been an amazing stand across the state of Iowa! We hope this keeps going....there is a lot that this man can and WILL do!!!

Here is a picture that I took of Barack on a stop in Muscatine a couple of months ago! I just love how the Iowa flag is in the background!!!
